Early Royal De Luxe typewriter w/ glass keys and tweed case 1940s vintage

Early Royal Quiet De Luxe portable typewriter. This vintage typewriter has the old fashioned glass keys with chrome or nickel rims and a tweed and leather carrying case.

We've been told that Royal brought out the Quiet De Luxe typwriter just before WWII. As this typewriter has the older tweed case we're guessing that it is an earlier machine from the late 1930s or early 1940s.

This typwriter works, but can probably use a good cleaning and tune up.

The tweed case has a bakelite handle. The leather trim on the case is worn and is coming off in areas.
