Root beer brown glass covered dish w/ swan, vintage vanity table box

Vintage 'root beer brown' glass covered dish with swan... very pretty, we think this is a jewelry box or powder box for a vanity or dressing table? It's in excellent condition, and measures 4 1/2" in diameter. We love the unusual color!
