1970s chrome Ghia automotive driving light, 3 1/4 inch volkswagen vintage

Retro 1970s vintage chrome automobile driving light. This is marked Ghia 400 and Saer 1970 on the housing and US 400 on the glass lens. We've been told this is probably a Volkswagen light, but we're not sure.

It measures 3 1/4" across and 4 1/2" high and has wear to the chrome.
