Vintage Hawaiian lava rock table lighter, Poi Pounder cigarette lighter from Hawaii

Vintage cigarette lighter made in Hawaii (the actual lighter parts are marked Japan). This is the "Poi Pounder", made of lava rock, I think? It's about 5 1/4" tall.

The chrom lighter looks good, but doesn't light (needs fuel, or a new flint?) The base looks very good without damage.
