vintage Japan toy sewing machine in lavender purple plastic - needs restoration work

Cutest ever battery operated sewing machine, vintage Japan. Size is  about 7 1/2" x 4" overall.

This was made to be a working toy for a little girl, but we can't get it running.

It looks pretty good overall, but consider this a unit for parts or restoration, or simply as a display piece.
