Orange bird, tall & thin ceramic statuette, vintage California pottery

Retro orange ceramic bird, tall and thin, with fancy feathers! This is not marked at all that we could find (we even checked inside, since the original felt base pad was missing), but looks like retro studio pottery from California, 1930's, 40's, or 50's vintage. The bird measures 15" tall, and is in very nice shape.
