Old Motorola Handie-Talkie PT-300 lunchbox walkie-talkie radio transceiver

1960s, Vietnam War vintage, Motorola HT "Handie-Talkie" portable FM radiophone transceiver with an olive-drab khaki canvas carrying tote or case. This is a battery operated "lunchbox" type radio with a hand held microphone and a whip antenna. It is a Motorola PT300, we think, but it is missing the name plates on the sides of the case. We're not sure of the exact vintage of this radio, but were told probably 1960s.

This radio is marked on the label plate as model P33DEN3100BM, transmitting and receiving on radio frequency 158.145 MHz. It has an olive drab plastic "lunchbox" case and holds 11 "D" cell batteries. The radio measures about 8" x 8" x 4". We tested this radio and it works, but we didn't know what the control knob labeled "PL" (on/off) does, so we didn't test that.

This walkie-talkie radio is from the estate of an industrial communications engineer and shortwave / ham radio enthusiast. We did test this radio and were able to both transmit and receive to another radio, but it was in storage in an attic for many years and has dust and soil from storage and we are assuming that you'll need to do some tweaking, tuning etc to this radio.

The plastic case in nice shape with no major chips, cracks etc. The canvas bag case has wear, some staining from age, areas of fading and a "#6" in ink.

We are selling this vintage radio for restoration or repair.
