Vintage Motorola Handie-Talkie PT-300 lunchbox HT radio transceiver

Mid-century, Vietnam War vintage, Motorola HT portable FM radiophone transceiver with an olive-drab khaki canvas carrying tote or case. This is a battery operated "lunchbox" type radio with a hand held microphone and a whip antenna. It is a "Motorola PT-300 - Handie-Talkie Radio". We're not sure of the exact vintage of this radio, but were told probably 1960s.

This radio is marked on the label plate as model P33DEN1100BM, transmitting and receiving on radio frequency 158.145 MHz. It has an olive drab plastic "lunchbox" case and holds 11 "D" cell batteries. The radio measures about 8" x 8" x 4", not including the whip antenna. We tested this radio and it works.

This FM walkie-talkie radio is from the estate of an industrial communications engineer and shortwave / ham radio enthusiast. We did test this radio and were able to both transmit and receive to another radio, but it was in storage in an attic for many years and has dust and soil from storage and we are assuming that you'll need to do some tweaking, tuning etc to this radio.

The plastic case has been repaired at the bases of the antenna and microphone mounts and also to the corner of the speaker grill. The canvas bag case has wear, age and areas of fading. There is a name in ink on both the radio and the canvas bag.

We are selling this vintage radio for restoration or repair.
