Mid century vintage 1940s "Astounding Science Fiction" sci-fi magazine from October, 1947. The cover art for this issue is of the planet Mercury crossing the face of the Sun. The stories are by authors such as L. Ron Hubbard, George O. Smith, Rene Lafayette and Peter Cartur.

This magazine is in nice vintage condition. We don't know anything about grading pulp magazines, but this issue does have light wear and age. There is a small number "2" stamp applied to the top edge of the cover. There is a "10 7" in ink on the bottom edge of the pages.

Astounding Science Fiction was originally published under the title of "Astounding Stories" in 1930. In 1938 the magazine was renamed "Astounding Science Fiction" and was renamed again in 1960 to "Analog Science Fiction and Fact".
