Vintage Mallory early electric 6 volt DC power supply or battery charger

Early electric, steampunk vintage, 6 volt DC early automotive battery charger or power supply. This power supply is marked on the name plate Mallory Elkon - Tapering Battery Charger and as model number 5535. It is also marked with a patent number from 1927.

It is rated for an input of 110 volts AC at 50 / 60 cycles (standard household electricity) and 5.5 to 3.5 amps with an output of 6 volts DC. This old battery charger has blown fuses on the front and the power cord is cut off at the case. So we are selling this for repair or parts.

This has some rust and flaking to the paint in areas.
