Retro loopy yarn embroidered shoulder bag, Mexico souvenir, Aztec design

Retro vintage hippie purse with looped yarn embroidery in bright colors... we think this was made in Mexico? The Indian design is maybe Aztec style or maybe Central American? (Maybe this came from Guatemala, though it came to us with a couple of other items marked Mexico, so we've guessed the former.)

This is so cute, but not in perfect condition - the exterior looks good, but the cotton lining has spots, ink staining and soil. The shoulder strap is loose, and held in place with a safety pin.
