mid-century modern vintage ceramic dinnerware in pink & blue, Ernest Sohn Red Wing
Mid-century mod vintage pottery dinnerware marked ES - Made in USA. We're
thinking that this is probably an Ernest Sohn design for Red Wing. This out
of the collection of an antique dealer here in the midwest, but aside from
that, we don't know a lot about it.
The clay, glazing and stilt marks and makers marks look typical of the solid
colored Red Wing dinnerware pieces, though we haven't been able to track
down any more info - or any more pieces! - in this shape / colorway.
These are mix and match pink and blue solids, a 'set' for four. There's four
each of cups and saucers, 5 1/2" bowls, 6" and 9" plates.
This seems to have been used very little if at all, there's very little
scratching, no finish dulling. The worst of the damage is shown in the last
photo - one of the pink saucers has a couple of chips, and there's a few scratches
as shown to a couple of the plates.
